one of the most important journals in the united states and the editor of Lonely Planet, plus some other important publications specialized on tourism made the best touristic places for visiting in 2006. The good news is that Colombia is on the list!

VOTE FOR THE NEW 7 WONDERS OF THE WORLD!

when I was younger I was fascinated about the ancient world wonders! yeah! so cool to read the histories about mausoleums, big statues, pyramids... all that!
Now.. some months ago an international NGO (I don't know who maybe UNESCO and some others) started a global project about choosing the new 7 wonders of the world! and is amazing all the cool places that are on the list!

The process was more and less like this... they searched for places around the world, the dismissed a lot of places (with more than 19 million of votes) and at the end they got 21 places. Now "the world citizens" must choose 7 new wonders from those 21. very cool!

I'm just Wondering... how the world can choose this? first you must pay for it, part of the money is going to the restoration of new places... I don't know the rest.. second, what about some other wonderful places that are more important than those in the 21 list... For example... Cappadocia-Turkey, Khajuraho Temples-India, Efesus- turkey, Pisa Tower-Italy, Golden-Temple-India and many others... but what the hell the Statue of Liberty, USA, Is doing there??
Well is my personal opinion of course.Any way, this is a chance for giving an opinion about all this,

ACTO 3: ODA A LA INTENSIDAD...

AIESEC ANKARA

Después de semejante susto, después de que el alma volvió al cuerpo y que la parte mala de mi súper-Yo dejara de pensar “no haber tenido una palo pa dale a estos HP”, de mi sonrisa entre nerviosa y fingida, salieron las palabras que inmortalizaron al pibe Valderrama: No, todo bien, todo bien! Y claro, regresaron los buenos pensamientos y las ideas para donde meterme el pasaporte en una proxima oportunidad! Luego de este bochornoso incidente, nos dirigimos a la oficina de AIESEC.

Oiga… Cosa buena… Conozco muchas, muchas oficinas de AIESEC en el mundo,incluso la de AI, pero la de AIESEC Ankara, no es oficina, es una casa, con un jardín enorme, con relativamente buena infraestructura, parking, entre otras, y situada en uno de los puntos mas kukinais (Buenos) de Ankara.

Llegamos a la Casa Amarilla de AIESEC (Debería ser azul no??? por lo del Branding de los inensos de AI) y el pica y yo esperábamos que después de semejante bromita, la fiesta de bienvenida iba a ser una cosa de locos.

Queridos amigos y amigas, Oh decepción, nuestros queridos amiguitos AIESECos estaban en meeting y ni por el berraco se podían salir a recibir a los trainees. Yo solo recuerdo gente en un cuarto de la casa amarilla en una algarabía, que tenia que ver con los Sex and beer o asi sonaba y que en turco significa 86, 86 intercambios que tenían y los que iban a tener.

AIESECOS: Varillazo duro pa todos, La calidad es mas importante que la cantidad! No lo olviden! Y no lo digo porque ese día no paso nada, sino más bien porque AIESEC Ankara era tan intenso pensando en cuantos intercambios iban a tener, que no pensaban en la situación que los trainees tenían en ese momento: Que la casa cayendosele a uno en la cabeza, que el un trainee se enfermo y ni les importa, que un trainee no tiene donde dormir, que en el trabajo no cumplen con los pagos... en fin...Cosas asi pasaban a menudo y cuando teníamos reunión de la junta con los trainees siempre teníamos la misma queja, pero bueno, AIESEC Ankara, es un comité que escucha y logro mejorar muchas de las deficiencias que en ese entonces tenían, y no es que diga que sean malos, son buenos pero tenían que aprender mas y lo están haciendo con toda la interacción y las vivencias que tuvieron con los trainees y las que aun siguen teniendo.

Pero bueno... quien sabe como esten ahora... escuche que las cosas no han cambiado mucho a la final... solo cuando se les habla como durito... Y a lo bien! De que me sirve a mi como LC tener 40 entrenados si nisiquiera les paro bolas o no interactuo con ellos, no aprendo, no gozo de los choques culturales?? Mejor dicho entonces pa que AIESEC?? pa' eso una empresa de intercambios! Lo bueno es meterso uno de lleno! mas de una ves uno escuchaba comentarios como el de una actual VP del mismo LC: The true I came to AIESEC for gaining experience, not for staying with trainees, I dont like them that much! Por Dios! que eso?

Pero creanlo o no... eso pasa... quizas hasta en tu LC o hasta tu! (si eres parte de AIESEC) y lo bueno de esta organizacion es precisamente Convivir con culturas diferentes! Pero bueno, Agrego, el comité local, es muy bueno, la calidad humana es excelente, muchos de esos miembros son de las personas más especiales que he conocido en mi vida de verdad espero que no solo este LC, sino Todos (EMPEZANDO POR AI) sean cada ves mejores y mas humanos! Mas calidad! No mas Cantidad!!

Se me olvida decir algo...
un dia despues de que llegamos algunos
miembros nuevos nos sacaron de vuelton.
Nada de otro mundo pero por lo menos se manifestaron.

ACTO 2: EL ASALTO

Llegados a Turquía fuimos recibidos por un buen amigo de Estambul que no volvimos a ver, de nombre Taceddin (léase tayidin), donde empezamos a disfrutar de la muy famosa (y es en serio) hospitalidad del pueblo turco.
Una noche en Estambul en Europa y al día siguiente para Ankara, en Asia, un excelente Bus (Nilufer fue la empresa… excelente) con Asafato y todo, agüita, coca cola, dulces, la Locioooón, café, ente otros.Llegamos a la imponente Terminal de Ankara y allá tuvimos que espera un buen ratico mientras que los fulanos de AIESEC llegaban.

Luego, Saludos, abrazos y besos cuando llegaron y nos fuimos en un carro para la oficina donde ansiosos los miembros esperaban la llegada de sus dos nuevos trainees de Colombia; según el conductor del carro las vías estaban cerradas y seria mejor coger una vía no muy segura, no problem, todo bien, la cogimos y claro, paso lo que tenia que pasar:
Dos fulanos salieron de la nada armados con pistola, nos bajaron de carro, maletas, computador, plata y en mi caso pasaporte y todo!
El pica no se donde se metio el pasaporte pero se salvo por ese lado.
El caso es que quedamos de patitas en la calle. Yo casi llorando de la putería con el conductor porque no me hizo caso cuando le dije, “Levantá con el carro a esas gonorreas gran hijue&%#!” y el Pica, aburrido por sus cosas, pero tranquilo porque tenia su pasaporte y pasaje (…en inhumana condición).
Estos manes de AIESEC llamen aquí y allá, los ladrones y el carro por ningún lado y después… pasados diez minutos , apareció el carro con las dos pekuecas que nos asaltaron y el guevon de AIESEC con una cara de idiota que jamás había visto en mi vida, diciendo:

“Guys, this is a joke, welcome to Turkey!”

(Por desconfiguracion de la camara Las fotos tienen la fecha mal... Despues le quitamos esa pendejada... NO DEJE QUE SUS FOTOS QUEDEN CON FECHAS!)

A LA VUELTA DEL MUNDO EN UN AÑO

Ir al otro lado del mundo no se demora las 20 y pico horas con paradas incluidas, se debe demorar mas.Hablaba con El pica cuando íbamos en el avión sobre todo el tiempo que se demora uno para llegar allá! Por dios! No mas comidas de avión, no mas esperas, no mas miradas extrañas de las azafatas por pedir mas vino, no mas… Mamados estamos. Una cosa que de verdad, que pereza repetir. Pero entonces, porque se debe demorar mas el viajecito? Ahh es que no debe ser solo el avión! Nosotros tuvimos la oportunidad de hacer este viaje por mas de seis meses! En mi caso particular fue de un año. Exactamente un corto pero maravilloso año.

ACTO no.1: Estereotipos

Voy al punto. Si, el punto se llama Turquía, un país fascinante y desconocido para casi todo este lado del hemisferio. Lleno de estereotipos. Pero bueno. Quien no esta lleno de estereotipos? A nosotros nos dicen Buenos trabajadores, guerrilleros, futbolistas, mafiosos, artistas, y así sigue la lista. Buenos y malos. Igual pasa con Turquía. Clásicos de Colombia hacia los turcos son por ejemplo, “este man fuma mas que un turco” “Que turco pa vender” “ese man huele a culo de turco” (por lo de los camellos) y así se van tejiendo una serie de ideas que si bien pueden aplicar para algunos de ellos, en su mayoría son erróneas, tal como lo que pensamos y sabemos sobre Turquía.

Explico mi caso particular en este contexto: Cuando estuve en Alemania con nuestra gloriosa organización, me lleve dos ideas de los turcos, una, que saben hacer el verdadero y delicioso Kebap, que ni medio de parecido a lo que conocí en Colombia; y el otro, que los Turcos eran una manada de pone problemas! Que hijuemadres! Y claro no era para mas, en mas de tres ocasiones tuve problemas con turcos en Alemania. Y por supuesto, Turquía no era un país que estuviera en mis planes futuros. Pero la vida es loca y la fuerza del destino me empaco para allá y me dejo enamorado de ese país.
Déjenme decir que si yo tenía una idea de lo que era Turquía, estaba más que equivocado. Para empezar no me encontré tantos camellos como yo quería! Ya lo mencione a algunos miembros en una presentación, en Turquía… No habían camellos, bueno si pero pa’ la foto Turística. Y en algunos raros casos para trabajo. La típica carita del turco como me lo imaginaba no es tal, era mas bien la memoria traicionera que cuándo hablaban de turcos yo recordaba a Jaffar, el de Aladin, con su narizota y su mostacho, que nada que ver del todo con Turquía! Si bien hay un estilo así, no es lo común de los Turcos. Las mujeres resultaron ser mas mamacitas de lo que pensaba y no tan tapadas como esperaba (Gracias a Allah!) y por supuesto, no me encontré turcos hablando como los majitos: Albajito, Basame una berbeza bara boner a beber a mi camello!

Y la fundamental! Si bien sabia que Turquía tenia una pata chiquita a un lado de Europa, la parte pley, nais and guonderfull, la otra pata grande la tenia en el mismísimo Medio Oriente, en el misterioso e inclemente desierto que según lo que me imaginaba podría ser un perfecto escenario para una película de ciencia ficción sobre invasión a países del medio oriente.

Oh sorpresa! Turquía resulto ser un hermoso país con de todo! Bosques, montañas, planicies, lagos, mares, ríos… y claro desiertos! Rico en muchos recursos minerales, vegetales, con muchas industrias y un gran potencial humano. Cabe mencionar, que no es igual a Colombia, y tampoco es ni mejor ni peor, lo que si, es que es muy diferente. Y de nuevo, no me lo imaginaba así. Pero bien, sigue la graciosa historia de un año, eventos particulares nos han de suceder en tan magna y heroica tarea de residir por un tiempo en un país nuevo y desconocido para nosotros, y claro, en vista de nuestra poca experiencia en el mismo, el Pica (que estaba asustado) y yo (que se me paso el miedo del pica) fuimos blanco de una de las mas atroces bromas que se le puedan hacer a un ser humano lleno de sentimientos, indefenso y solo en tan salvaje tierra.

That's what I asked to myself a normal day at the end of November. My answer was as quick as the time of packing all the stuff for starting the trip.
It was a fast decision. Lets go... yeah Lets go!

Yeah dude! Is hard to have a curly long hair when travelling... and look what happened to me... After some time I got great dread locks on my hair! Shit Happens! It was in Ecuador too. Just at the begining.

In Cuenca I met (again) with a very cool friend -Esteban- that I met during an International AIESEC conference!
Is so cool to catch your friends again!

Travelling and adventures... Is true! That's my passion, I have not say anything about travelling in southamerica yet. But believe me... is Just Amazing...is a god's test!
My trip started In Colombia, and went down till the south of Argentina, crossing Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Etc... Then my way back crossing all Brazil. the coast, the planes, the jungles, the amazons... Busses, Trains, Caps, Trucks, Mototaxis, Boats... Even Horses!
Is a hard trip I must say but is one of the things that you can do!
Feel the atmosphere of the cities, fall in love with the landscapes, taste all kind of magical flavors, join the culture and be part of it, meet people from all over the world travelling just like you.

Benim iman dolu göğsüm gibi serhaddim var.
Ulusun, korkma! Nasıl böyle bir imanı boğar.
"Medeniyet!" dediğin tek dişi kalmış canavar?

Arkadaş! Yurduma alçakları uğratma sakın!
Siper et gövdeni, dursun bu hayasızca akın.
Doğacaktır sana vaadettiği günler Hak'kın;
Kimbilir, belki yarın, belki yarından da yakın.

Bastığın yerleri "toprak" diyerek geçme, tanı!
Düşün, altında binlerce kefensiz yatanı.
Sen şehit oğlusun, incitme, yazıktır atanı;
Verme, dünyaları alsan da bu cennet vatanı.

Kim bu cennet vatanın uğruna olmaz ki feda?
Şüheda fışkıracak toprağı sıksan, şüheda!
Canı, cananı, bütün varımı alsın da Hüda,
Etmesin tek vatanımdan beni dünyada cüda.

Ruhumun senden, ilahi, şudur ancak emeli;
Değmesin mabedimin göğsüne na-mahrem eli!
Bu ezanlar ki şahadetleri dinin temeli,
Ebedi yurdumun üstünde benim inlemeli

O zaman vecd ile bin secde eder varsa taşım;
Her cerihamdan, ilahi, boşanıp kanlı yaşım,
Fışkırır ruh-i mücerret gibi yerden naşım;
O zaman yükselerek arşa değer belki başım!

Dalgalan sen de şafaklar gibi ey şanlı hilal;
Olsun artık dökülen kanlarımın hepsi helal!
Ebediyyen sana yok, ırkıma yok izmihlal.
Hakkıdır, hür yaşamış bayrağımın hürriyet;
Hakkıdır, Hak'ka tapan milletimin istiklal!
